Vozer article Olympe Bonet "Opening of the Bulles en Weppes soap factory" Organic soaps that are very gentle on your skin, this is what Antoine Waymel has recently been making. Based in the North, in Hantay, he has just set up Bulles en Weppes, his artisanal soap factory, and his e-shop in the wake to launch the famous click and collect. The soap maker apprentice has developed four different recipes containing environmentally friendly plant products.
His project to make soap himself started about a year ago. “ When I read the number of chemicals on the packaging of the shower gels, I realized it was a disaster. On top of that, my daughter had skin problems from hard water, so I researched how to make moisturizing soaps ”, tease Antoine. A soap maker training in Paname and two confinements later, her baby is launched. The young quadra left his job as a logistics planner in the agricultural sector to set up his lab in the family home in Hantay, where he grew up. This is where you can collect your click and collect orders. If ever you do not know this village, it is 30 minutes from Lille. Otherwise, the soap maker will deliver if you live in the Lille metropolis.
In order to finance his brand called Bulles en Weppes, Antoine set up an Ulule kitty last March and the first customers will be receiving their orders very soon. The peculiarity of its soaps is that in addition to being manufactured locally, they do not contain essential oils: “ It wastes a lot of raw material for a poor result ,” explains the Northerner.
Soaps eco-friendly
The entrepreneur has a large production capacity. In his lab, he can make 12 kg of soap per day. That's roughly 120 soaps of 100 g. On its newly operational e-shop, the soap maker offers four products, all composed of oils and vegetable butters from the south of France. Yes, because it is not for nothing that the brand's logo is a rooster: everything is made in France. Moreover, all the ingredients are indicated on the label. “ I wanted there to be traceability. The soaps are organic and also vegan, except the Pavé des Weppes which contains beeswax, ”explains Antoine. To continue in this ethical and eco-responsible approach, he insisted that his products were not tested on animals. And to go all the way, the soaps are carefully wrapped in biodegradable packaging.
Four models
The house has developed four different recipes, which do not meet the same needs. Like the Mamirène at 6.50 euros, it's the one we tested. In the long run, it will make your hands very soft since it contains sesame oil. Therefore, bye Bye dry and dehydrated hands in winter. “ With Lydéryc, I wanted to make a soap for the beard, with activated charcoal and castor oil to nourish the hairs, ” adds the owner. In fact, this one you can also use it for your hair, it will only come out stronger. Antoine has also concocted an ideal soap recipe for making scrubs, as well as the Pavé des Weppes at 7.50 euros, nickel to wash your whole body or to hydrate your mimines. Other linseed oil-based soaps and solid shampoo are also in the pipeline.
If you are used to frequenting bulk grocery stores in the Lille metropolitan area, you will soon find its products on the stalls. Next step for the soap maker: traveling the roads aboard a soap truck . He intends to promote Bulles en Weppes through an itinerant trade, but that will be in the course of 2021.
